Stockpile optimization also requires rethinking the balance between exquisite precision and mass. While precision weapons remain mandatory for minimizing collateral damage and striking hardened nodes, an over-reliance on high-end systems leaves forces vulnerable when those specific assembly lines stutter. Integrating lower-cost, mass-producible guided weapons into the tactical mix provides a sustainable baseline for sustained operations.

The current deficit is not a temporary glitch in the logistics software. It is the natural outcome of a defense industrial ecosystem built for efficiency rather than endurance, operating in a world that has returned to great power competition. Until procurement policy rewards redundancy, massive industrial surge capacity, and unglamorous supply chain depth over corporate profit margins, the inventory numbers will remain dangerously low.
